5 common questions answered
NHTSA recall information identifies three safety concerns affecting certain 2017 Ford Taurus vehicles. Corroding steering heat-shield fasteners may allow the shield to detach, overheat the steering gear, increase steering effort at lower speeds, and raise crash risk. On vehicles with mechanical key ignition systems, the key may come out before Park, allowing a vehicle to roll away if the parking brake is not applied. Certain Police Interceptor or SHO Performance Pack vehicles may also have rear toe links that fracture, causing a sudden handling change. Waiting can leave a safety concern unresolved, so schedule service promptly after a VIN check.
