First-Time Car-Buyer's Guide

If you’re a first-time car-buyer or simply want some advice as you embark on the research phase of the process, consider these three helpful tips:

Make a list of what you want vs. what you need

Modern Ford models offer an incredible variety of amenities, and it can be hard to know where to start when you're deciding between what features you want versus the ones you simply can't do without. Our suggestion is to make a list, and to prioritize qualities like performance capabilities, comfort features and fuel-efficiency. Consider your driving habits, what you'll be using your Ford for most often and which technology features you anticipate using frequently.

Explore Your Financing Options

Depending on how long you’re looking to own your car and how much you plan on driving, you may want to lease a Ford instead of buying one outright. When you lease a Ford, you might be able to gain access to more features at a lower price. Plus, you are usually locked in to your vehicle for a shorter amount of time. When you buy a new or pre-owned Ford, you often pay more since you’re buying equity in the vehicle. However, you also gain more flexibility and face no mileage or customization restrictions. Speak to our Ford finance team to learn more about buying vs. leasing today.

Take a Test-Drive

Once you've settled on the new Ford model you want to drive home, you'll want to take it for a test-drive to ensure you like the way it feels and you're comfortable in the driver's seat. Conducting research beforehand is smart, but nothing compares to getting behind the wheel yourself and putting your prospective new Ford to the test! Whether you're interested in a new Ford car, truck, minivan or SUV, we’ll be happy to set you up with a test-drive

Let Herb Chambers Ford of Westborough congratulate you for all your hard work and let you get set for the next chapter of your life in a new Ford. Reach out to us today!
